When switching electricity providers, you must pay attention to the notice periods. If you’ve already switched once and are no longer with your original provider, it’s very likely that the notice period is several months.
However, you can switch without notice if your current provider raises prices. You can switch to your preferred provider on the date of the price increase. This allows you to use these dates to switch to a cheaper or more environmentally friendly tariff.
If there are delays in the switch and the notice period passes without the new provider taking over, the old provider often charges much higher rates for the interim period.
